My husband and I spent some time in Quito on our way to and from the Galapagos Islands, where we participated in a 7-day Galapagos cruise with the small-group adventure company G Adventures. It was the trip of a lifetime!

Located in the Andes Mountains, Quito, Ecuador’s capital, is one of the world’s highest capital cities, perched at an elevation of approximately 9,350 feet (2,850 meters) above sea level.
