Here, you’ll find brick sidewalks, beautifully preserved buildings, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. My husband and I personally love the Mexican restaurant, Local Cantina. 

Bridge Park’s pedestrian-friendly design is a standout feature, featuring well-planned walkways, lush green spaces, and a scenic riverfront along the Scioto River, allowing residents and visitors to explore the area on foot. Additionally, there are plenty of retail stores, boutiques, and specialty shops, ensuring a wide range of shopping opportunities, whether you’re in search of fashion, home goods, or unique gifts.

Moreover, Bridge Park serves as a host for numerous events and festivals throughout the year, including art exhibitions, live music performances, and community gatherings, all contributing to the lively atmosphere of the development.

Scioto Riverside Crossing Park: 

The Scioto Riverside Crossing Park is one of Dublin’s most significant urban and natural spaces, connecting Historic Dublin with Bridge Park.

It contains a network of bicycle and pedestrian pathways, access points for canoes and kayaks, and picturesque natural spaces.

The western portion of the park is a more natural and ecologically diverse area, providing links to the Indian Run greenway, water access points, and trail systems. On the eastern side of the park, elevated above the floodplain, visitors can find spaces designed for public gatherings, cultural events, recreational programs, a pavilion building, lush planting beds, and scenic overlooks offering breathtaking river views.

The Dublin Link, a pedestrian bridge, links the two sides of the park, enhancing accessibility. Public plazas along this bridge provide easy access to restaurants, shops, a library, and a wide array of destinations both to the east and west, making it a vibrant hub for the community.

Glacier Ridge Metro Park: 

Glacier Ridge Metro Park, located just a short drive from Dublin, is a sprawling nature preserve with diverse ecosystems and recreational opportunities. Hikers will appreciate the park’s extensive trail system, which ranges from easy, paved paths to more challenging terrain. 

Birdwatchers will be delighted to spot various bird species, especially in the park’s wetland areas. Don’t forget to pack a picnic, as the park provides ample picnic tables.

This is our daughter’s favorite park to go to when we are in the Dublin area. She particularly loves the small zipline that’s part of the playground, but also enjoys the natural play space. This is a spot just off the playground where kids can be kids and play in the mud, build forts out of wooden logs, or anything they can imagine. She also enjoys attempting some of the obstacle course features at Glacier Ridge, although, most of them are too difficult for her, but she has surprised us!

Scioto Park

Scioto Park,  as its name suggests, lies next to the Scioto River. There is a playground and picnic shelter, as well as a small outdoor amphitheater that is the location for the Sundays at Scioto Concert Series. 

Probably the most iconic feature of this park is the 12 ft stone memorial of Leatherlips, a local Wyandot legend. 

Biking and Kayaking

For cycling enthusiasts, Dublin features a network of scenic biking trails and paths. These routes cater to various skill levels, from leisurely rides through parks to more demanding trails for experienced cyclists. Also, you can look into Sunrise Kayaking in Dublin. They offer single, double, and triple kayaks, which are good for those who have a small child they want to take out on the water.

Ballantrae Community Park 

Ballantrae Community Park or “Bunny Park” as many locals know it due to the dancing hares on the hill, is a FREE splash pad located in Dublin. It is open during the summer months from the end of May through September, weather dependent. 

Kiwanis Riverway Park 

If you are looking for a nice park near the Scioto River, check out Kiwanis Riverway Park. It offers a boardwalk, fishing, and river access. You can even be on the lookout for a Riverbox!

Today, the Morgan House serves as a multifaceted establishment, offering a variety of services and experiences to its guests including its restaurant, known for its delightful American cuisine, gift shop, furniture and home accents department, and clothing and jewelry boutique. Additionally, the Morgan House has a tea room, where visitors can enjoy a traditional tea service complete with a selection of teas, sandwiches, and delectable pastries.

Tucci’s: 

Tucci’s is a local favorite located in the heart of Historic Dublin and is known for its upscale American cuisine with a European twist. The restaurant offers an elegant dining experience with an extensive wine list.

J Liu of Dublin:

If you visit on a Wednesday between 6 and 9 pm, you can catch live music in the area.

First, Sign up for the Cocktail Trail Pass, receive a text with your passport, and visit local establishments to begin earning points. For a cozy, neighborhood coffee shop vibe, Espresso 22 in nearby Powell, is a great choice. Espresso 22 boasts a diverse menu featuring an array of hot, iced, and frozen coffee and tea beverages, complemented by an assortment of local bakery treats and a choice of “light” lunch options. 

You can find their charming store conveniently situated on the southern side of Liberty Street, just a stone’s throw away from the heart of downtown Powell.

No, this isn’t a REAL field of corn, it’s art! Field of Corn is the third addition to Dublin’s Art in Public Places collection. This sculpture consists of 109 life-sized ears of corn, each standing at a height of 6’3″ (approximately 1.9 meters) in neatly arranged rows, resembling real cornfields. It serves as a tribute to the area’s agricultural heritage and as a reminder of its rural landscapes.

Family-Friendly Fun in Dublin, Ohio

Irish Fairy Door Trail:

This sounds like so much fun and I can’t wait for us to do it on our next trip to Dublin! The Irish Fairy Door Trail is a scavenger hunt of sorts through Historic Dublin and Bridge Park, visiting 11 businesses to find a resident fairy! When you find the fairy, record their name in your passport, and when you have filled in the information for all 11 fairies, return your passport to the Dublin Visitor and Info Center for a FREE Fairy Door t-shirt!!

Get your Trail Guide at the Dublin Visitor & Information Center at 9 South High Street in Dublin. This activity occurs year-round and is updated annually. Because of business closures, it is recommended to participate during the hours of 11 a.m.-6 pm Wednesday through Saturday.

Go in search of Riverboxes:

Riverboxes are a lot like Geocaching, which is always a fun and free activity! However, Riverbox containers are created by artists and hold a unique stamp inside. Go in search of the Riverbox in natural areas near a river. Be sure to bring your own journal or paper to mark with the special stamp included inside the box. Find all 16 Riverboxes and earn prizes!
